Hollywood Movie “Once” Plot

Guy, a thirty-year-old busker, performs on Grafton Street in Dublin’s shopping district. He chases after a man who robs his money. A young Czech flower seller (Girl), attracted to his music, talks to Guy about his songs. The Girl is delighted to discover that Guy repairs hoovers and insists that Guy fix her hoover. Girl comes back the next day with her broken hoover, and Guy learns that she is also an accomplished musician.

Guy discovers that Girl has a Czech husband. Girl replies in Czech, “Miluji Tebe” (“I still love my husband 4)”), but he declines to translate. They recruit a band of buskers to join them in the studio. Eamon, the jaded studio engineer, is impressed by their first song, “When Your Mind’s Made-up.” Girl takes a break at the beginning of the morning to find a piano in an abandoned studio and plays Guy “The Hill.”
