Frequent-flyer points introduce another layer of complexity because the cheapest cash ticket isn’t always the best value.
AI can help calculate redemption value.
Give it the cash price, required points and any taxes or surcharges.
For example:
A ticket costs $850 cash.
The airline wants 55,000 points plus $110.
AI can calculate the approximate value you’re receiving per point and compare that with another redemption.
This doesn’t require sophisticated machine learning.
It simply prevents you from spending 60,000 valuable points to avoid paying for a ticket that was already inexpensive.
Save points for situations where they genuinely provide value.
Don’t Ask AI for a Magic Booking Day
You’ve probably heard some version of this:

If only airlines were that cooperative.

My priority is the lowest total airfare, but I don’t want more than one connection, overnight airport transfers or self-transfers shorter than four hours. Suggest several date and route combinations I should check in a live flight search tool. Also identify nearby destination airports that could save money after including ground transportation.
Notice what this prompt does.
It doesn’t ask AI to invent a fare.
It asks AI to design the search strategy.
That’s a much better use of the technology.
Always Verify Before Paying
This is the final rule.
AI can misunderstand baggage rules.
It can overlook a transit-visa requirement.
It can work from outdated information if it isn’t connected to live data.

Once you find the flight you want, verify the itinerary on the airline or booking provider’s final checkout page.
Check baggage.
Check airports.
Check connection times.

Then look at the total amount you’re actually paying.
